Abstract

The present illvesliptioo revealed that DOt Oldy additive but DODBdditIve ~etrec:ts were also important for dilfeftllt daaracters in wheat (TriIiamJ atStI_ L. eine.I. TheU). Varieties lID 2009, WH 157 and WL 711 were the best general combiners ill normal soU and WH 157 and Kban:Iaia 65 ill alkali (sodIc:) soils. Most f1l the.crosses sbowing signHkant sa. eft'ects iIIvolved IowXIow er IdgIIXlow geaend combiBers. The best crosses fer seed yield were lID 2009XKban:Iaia 65. lID 2009XWL71l. and lID IS53XKban:Iaia 65. They were also good fer UI08..graill weight.
