PATTERN OF VARIATION OF HARVEST INDEX IN CHICKPEA CROSSES
Main Article Content
Abstract
Variation in harvest index was studied in Fl and F2 generations of eight chickpea crosses. The gene action controlling the expression of harvest index was primarily additive type. Means and degree. of dominance of Fl and F2 populations indicated partial dominance of high harvest index. Magnitude of heterosis over midpuent was low. Estimates of heritability and genetic advance were low to moderate.
