Abstract

In a study to find out the reaction of certain tomato genotypes and their Fl hybrids to root-knot disease and bacterial wilt, it was found that the hybrids whose parents had dominant sources of resistance to bacterial wilt and root-knot diseases remained resistant to these diseases in the field. When the parents had partially dominant/recessive source of resistance to eith er of the diseases, the hybrids became susceptible to wilt. Still, itis possible to get FI hybrids with desirable economic characters and combined resistance to bacterial wilt and root-knot disease.
