Abstract

Inheritance of grain length, breadth and shape were studied in three crosses, viz. Pankaj x Badsahbhog; S 214 x Mahsuri and S 214 x S 260. The characters were largely controlled by polygene., althoughevidence of majorgenes governing the traits in some crosses were also observed. Transgressive segregation for the chuacters was observed in two crosses.
