Born at Beri, District Kasganj, U.P. on 12 February 1968. Educated at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, B.Sc. (Ag. & A.H.) 1987, M. Sc. (Ag) Genetics & Plant Breeding 1990 and G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Ph. D. 1995.

Principal Scientist/In-Charge of Project Coordination Unit of All India Coordinated Research Project on Rapeseed-Mustard at ICAR - Directorate of Rapeseed Mustard Research, Bharatpur.

Scientist (Plant Breeding), 1997 at Directorate of Rapeseed Mustard Research, Bharatpur; Senior Scientist, 2006-2011, Principal Scientist 2012 till date. Associated with All India Coordinated Research Project on Rapeseed - Mustard as Scientist/In-Charge of Project Coordination Unit at Directorate of Rapeseed Mustard Research, Bharatpur, since 1997. Developed one of the first CMS based hybrid NRCHB 506 of Indian mustard, four varieties including NRCHB 101 and Giriraj (DRMRIJ 31), eleven genetic stocks.

Awards/Honours: Rajiv Gandhi National Award for original book writing in Hindi on Gyan Vigyan for the year 2013 by Department of Rajbhasha, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India; Best Scientist Award for the year 2012, ICAR-Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur; Recognition award (2009) by Samaj Sadan, National Research Centre on Rapeseed Mustard (ICAR) Bharatpur; Recognition award (2008) Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation Bharatpur, India
