Born in Patna, Bihar, India on 15th October, 1963. Educated at G.B. Pant University of Agricultural and Technology, Pantnagar and obtained B.Sc. Ag & A.H., M.Sc. (Ag) Plant Breeding and Ph.D. (Plant Breeding) degrees in 1984, 1987 and 1991, respectively and PGDHRM in 1997 & P G Diploma in Management in 2002 from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU),New Delhi.
