Major research contribution: Released 11 rice varieties for drydirect-seeded aerobic and irrigatedconditionthrough CVRC or SVRC and published more than 85 research articlesin peer-reviewed journals. Identified QTL’s/superior haplotypes for the shoot and root vigour, anaerobic condition, low nitrogen, and phosphorous condition. His current focus is on developing genetic solutions for enhancing input use efficiency in rice. Introgression of yield, nutrient, and stress-tolerant genes/QTLs into elite varieties through MAS for direct-seeded conditions.
