VARIABILITY IN KANGNI-l. ADAPTATION AND GENOTYPIC AND PHENOTYPIC VARIABILITY IN FOUR ENVIRONMENTS

Published on

Kangni (Setaria italica Beauv.) is one of the small millet crops with short
growing period.
It is cultivated over large areas in Andhra Pradesh, Mysore,
Maharashtra and hilly areas of Northern India. Although this millet has been
under study for the last four decades, yet little information is available on the
response of germ plasm to a range of different environments and the extent of
genotypic variability present in various quantitative characters.
