INHERITANCE OF FIELD RESISTANCE TO LEAF RUST IN EMMER WHEAT

Published on

TRITICUM dicoccum Schubl. khapli or samba wheat as it is generally known in India, is
now restricted to small areas and is of much less importance as compared to bread
and macaroni wheats. Russia and Abyssinia are the only two countries which grow
emmer wheat on a fairly large scale for human consumption. In India, it is grown in
certain areas in the states of Madras, Mysore, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and
Gujerat.
