INHERITANCE OF FIELD REACTION TO YELLOW RUST IN BARLEY

Published on

IN the Nilgiri hills of Peninsular India, barley is cultivated to a limited extent. Due
to the favourable climatic conditions, there is very heavy incidence of yellow rust
and the crop is often seriously damaged. In the course of breeding work for evolving
superior strains of barley, the genetics of resistance to yellow rust under field
conditions was studied and the results are presentd in this paper.
