Dr. N.R. Bhat Memorial Award for Best Research Paper published from the Ph.D. Thesis (Biennial), 2019

Dr. Neha Rai did her Ph.D. in the year 2018 from Dept. of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. Presently, she is working as a Research Fellow, Division of Genetics, ICAR-Indian Agriculture Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi.

Dr. Neha Rai has significantly contributed in the field of Wheat breeding. She did research for identifying genes /QTLs for abiotic stress and introgressed in the genetic background of popular wheat variety HD2733 through Marker Assisted Backcross Breeding.

Dr. Neha Rai received award for Best Ph.D thesis from GRISAAS-2019.She has published 7 research papers during her Ph.D . program in reputed National and International journals and participated in many national and international conferences and symposiums. She involved in research projects financed by CGIAR and ICAR. Currently, she involves in the research project financed by DST under crop improvement program.

Considering her achievements and contributions in the area of Wheat Genetics and Breeding, the empowered committee of the ISGPB has recommended Dr. Neha Rai for Dr. N. R. Bhat Memorial Award of the year 2019 and as such the Society confers upon her the same.
