DIVERGENCE ANALYSIS IN TARAMIRA (ERUCA SATIVA MILL.)

Genetic divergence or 99 lines or taramira (Eruca sativa' MilL) was a'}sessed using Mahalanobis'
n2 statistic. These lines could be grouped in 13 clusters. Grouping or lines in different clusters
was not related to their geographic origin. Pods/plant,
seed yield/plot, seed yield/plant and test
weight contributed maximum towards total genetic divergence. Based on mean performance,
genetic distance and e1ustering pattern, hybridization invohing parents KI'M-136, 176, 91,345 and
465 belongiDll to clusters III, VIII, X and XII may give higher yielding varieties.
