01 L. culiDaris Morphological observations and yield attributes recorded in FI and .':z generations
showed that certain charaders Uke Dower colour and cotyledon colour segregated as per
Mendelian Laws, whereas seed coat colour in F3 and subsequent generations appeared in a very
large number 01 intermediate colour combinations. Improvement in lOO-seed weight was well
marked. Cytological observations showed marked difference In genomes of parent varletles In
some ~rids but normal meiosis in most 01 the PMe confirms dose phylogenetic: relationship
between the two subspecies.
