CORRELATION STUDIES IN LINUM USITATISSIMUM-III. EFFECT OF MORPHOLOGICAL GROUPING OF TYPES ON THE CORRELATION COEFFICIENTS RELATING TO OIL CONTENT AND OIL QUALITY

Published on

IN an earlier paper (Kedharnath et al., 1960), it was shown that the correlation
between yield per plant and some yield contributing characters, in a set of one hundred
varieties of linseed, was sometimes considerably affected when these varieties were
grouped in the most obvious way, i.e., into seed size and seed colour classes. In the
present paper, the effect of such grouping on correlations between a number of
characters affecting oil content and quality, such as the ripening period and seed size,
is examined.
