A NOTE ON THE CHROMOSOMES OF COLEUS PARVIFLORA

A FEW species of Coleus (family Labiateae) are grown in India, Ceylon, Java and parts
of tropical Africa. One of these,
Coleus parviflora, is cultivated to a large extent
in Madras, as a monsoon crop, with the harvest in winter. The underground tubers
are edible and are used as a substitute for potato.
